6 Differences between High Performers and Low Performers

In business or workplaces, there are employees who perform incredibly well while others are average or poor performers. The workforce is the backbone of every business. Things become messed up when you are surrounded by low performers since success is as a result of high performance from employees. 
What’s the difference between high and low performers?
  • Performance
High performers are very competent. They are always willing to do everything to become productive. They respond well to change to enhance their productivity. Working overtime is never a problem with such people. High performers work extra hard to an extent of trying to help others perform better. On the other hand, low performers are known to be unwilling to work beyond their working hours. They resist change at the workplace; hardly help others to increase their neither output nor work hard to benefit the company. In general, high performers produce more output than low performers.
  • Time management
How you manage your time is very important. A lot depends on your time management skills. A high performer is always conscious of their time. They are always working towards delivering their projects right on time and will work overtime to beat deadlines. Low performers tend to postpone a lot and waste their time on unproductive things.
  • Goals
High-performing employees have set goals that they target to accomplish. They are well organized and focused on achieving them. On the contrary, low performers have a reputation for being disorganized and hardly set clear goals. They achieve nothing much as a result of chasing vague goals.it takes a proper organization to achieve greatness.
  • Motivation
High performers are always motivated by something. They are pleasant to work with due to their energetic traits, unlike low performers who are always dull at work. High performing individuals do not give up on their goals and they will always find a reason to keep going while low performers give up at the slightest sign of a challenge. Every employer dreams of working with workers who have self-motivation and not those who need constant motivation to deliver.
  • Attitude
Low performers have a reputation for blaming others for their failures. They never take responsibility for anything and find numerous excuses to point fingers. High performers, on the other hand, approach things with a positive attitude. When things don’t work out as expected they are quick to take responsibility and learn from their mistakes.
  • Focus
High performers focus on improving their productivity. Consequently, they are never distracted easily by other things. Such people work towards adding value to their organizations and their lives. Low performers waste so much time on distractions such as social media, gossiping among others which affect their work quality.
