Currently, Millennials make up the largest workforce in the world, and understanding their driving force will make it easier for you to engage them at the workplace.

Apart from being the largest workforce, they are soon expected to make up the largest consumer base. 
Understanding and being in a position to engage with this generation will determine the success of your business.
Below are interesting facts about the Millennials, which will make it easier for you to identify with them:
  • In the United States alone, the Millennials have a combined student debt of close to one trillion dollars
  • When it comes to job factors, pay ranks first for the members of this group. Meaningful work ranks second, while positive relationships in the workplace and flexibility take third and fourth positions respectively.
  • Thirty-seven percent of the Millennials will usually leave their first job within a period of two years
  • Among the group that has left their first job, twenty-six percent are of the opinion that a better salary would have ensured they stayed a bit longer, while seventeen percent were willing to stay, provided they got a clearer sense of the direction that was being taken by the organization.
  • Sixty-four percent of the Millennials are willing to work in jobs that only pay them forty thousand dollars a year, if they love these jobs, rather than being stuck at positions that pay one hundred thousand dollars a year, but which they consider being boring
  • When asked about blogging about workplace-related issues, forty percent of the Millennials believe that it is all right to do this, as compared to twenty-eight percent of the baby boomers generation.
  • Studies had shown that Millennials stay in their first jobs longer than Gen x workers did when they were in the same age groups: most Gen X workers stayed with their employers for only one year before moving on to other companies.
  • When queried about their ideal employers, most Millennial listed Apple, the US State Department, Facebook, and Disney World as their preferred employers.
  • Seventy-five percent of Millennials see themselves as being authentic and are therefore not willing to compromise their personal values as well as those of their families.
  • Around sixty-three percent of all Millennial workers possess a bachelor’s degree, but of this group, only forty-eight percent of the employed graduates have jobs that require them to have a four-year degree.
